Acts of Kindness
Performing acts of kindness has measurable impacts on our mental health by increasing the neurotransmitters in the brain that make us feel good: serotonin and dopamine. It also increases oxytocin, which is a hormone that makes us feel connected to each other and that we can trust each other. These three chemicals can have a profound impact on our mood and overall happiness. Wow! Talk about a trifecta of positivity!!
Being kind can help reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, as well.
What’s more, doing something nice for others helps strengthen social ties and the sense that you’re part of a community. What could be nicer than that?
I'd love to invite you to join our community! By signing up for our newsletter, you not only get occasional snippets of sunshine like this one BUT we also like to perform acts of kindness too. We'll ask you for your birthday - because who doesn't love a birthday surprise?!?!
